Most of the Marr information in the two Marr sections has been created by Robin Press, the Gt Gt Grandson of Henry Marr the first in this line of known Marrs. He accumulated this information from a variety of family sources – David Marr, Muriel Marr, Derek Marr, Peggy Miller, Mary Marr, family letters, stories and artefacts, census returns, some assumptions together with an in-depth study of relevant history on how it may have affected the Marrs.
The thread of how the Marrs and the Greens interacted as two farming families is never far from the surface be it through proximity of farms, local churches, regional farm moves, family meetings and marriages. I have left most of the family history text as written by Robin but omitted some of the general historical background. I have added some additional information with particular regard to information available on the internet, newspapers and other sources not readily available to Robin at the time he collated the data.
